About The Hipps Family

The Hipps family has been working in the rare coin business since 1954. Ed Hipps started his business in a stall at the Trenton Farmers Market. He would stay there until 1963 when he decided to expand into a store at the new Levittown Shopping Center. During the duration of time between the 60’s and 80’s Ed’s son Edward S. Hipps joined his father at the shop and would later take it over in 1978. Ed opened Ed Hipps Gallery down in Dallas, Tx. It would stay open until the 1990’s when Ed decided to “semi-retire”. After the Levittown store closed in 1982 Edward S. Hipps would join up with his brother John and form John Hipps Rare Coins, and operate as wholesalers. Edward S. Hipps Jr. would later join them in 1997 and open the Hipps and Sons store in Newtown in 2010. The store is now a culmination of decades of experience in numismatics and you will always see a Hipps family member behind the counter. The family has three generations of coin knowledge and looks forward to serving their clients.
